For almost 45 years, Elvis Presley’s tragic death has driven his family and fans wild with grief, as they try to make peace with how the King of Rock’n’Roll was taken so unexpectedly while he was still in his prime.

Those close to Elvis say it’s too simple to accept that he died of a heart attack in his Memphis mansion, Graceland, in 1977, aged just 42.

Following his death, doctors agreed his sudden passing was due in part to his chronic drug addiction – and indeed, when Elvis’ toxicology results came in, it’s believed his blood contained high dosages of opiates, Quaalude and codeine.

But insiders close to the legendary singer say it wasn’t just the drugs that killed him – it was pure heartbreak.
