Spreading Scientific Sensibilities
Dignity Dialogue
|December 2017
Politician Pradeep Rawat (60) was so enchanted with the collection of books at the parliament in Delhi that he decided to use his own books to start a library in Pune.
-
As a former Member of Parliament and senior leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party, it is but natural that Pune-based Pradeep Rawat is more than engaged with politics. That apart, he has other official responsibilities to discharge, as in the role of the chairman of the National Shipping Board, a statutory body appointed by the Union Ministry of Shipping. However, despite his hectic schedule, he still finds time for two things: reading and the management of a unique library that he has set up in Pune. The Rawat Nature Academy that he established about three years ago is now a hub for students aspiring for the civil services, such being the huge stock of more than 5,000 reference books.
