In Praise of the Shadows

With many of us trying to navigate a new way of life in the midst of a pandemic, we might find that our photography is in flux. We believe that engaging in challenges can help one get back into the groove of making thoughtful pictures. For the twentieth set of contests, the themes were Exploring Life Along the Shorelines and Repetitions. Each theme in the BP Weekly Challenge series is divided into two categories (Camera and Smartphone), and for all of them, a Mentor-Judge provides guidance on how to approach the subject, and insights on the shortlisted images.

An independent writer, photographer, and educator, Zahra’s areas of interest include art, history, astronomy, personal narratives, and family histories. Her work has been published in The Hindu, Elle, and Scroll, among others.

He loves dabbling with all kinds of genres and equipment when it comes to making images. Nasar is the founder of the Instagram community @peoplesleepingintheworld, and is currently working on videos titled Dhinchak Bambai.
