Scintillating prints, vivid shades and a mix of contemporary and vintage designs take centre stage in this Mumbai apartment by Kavan Shah

The living area features a salmon-hued sofa, Nicobar’s Periyar lumber cushions and a grey-toned floor covering from Jaipur Rugs
A repository of memories best describes this Mumbai apartment belonging to a couple of travel enthusiasts. The credit for showcasing artefacts, souvenirs and other knick-knacks collected during their trips across the globe goes to Kavan Shah, who along with the team at his namesake design studio ‘mapped’ the home to be a reminder of the good times the duo have shared. Among the other changes that Kavan has seen to is the opening up of the 1,800 sq ft home to accommodate large social gatherings. Plus, he also filled the entire space with lush greens to blur the lines between indoors and outdoors. Additionally, the interior designer says, “I’ve consciously tried to minimise the footprint of the bathroom and kitchen by placing them into the centre of the plan, sandwiched between the living and bedroom.”
