Colours, textures and patterns reign supreme in this luxurious Jaipur penthouse by Shantanu Garg, that’s fit for a modern day maharaja

The bespoke red Pol Chair, designed by Shantanu Garg and made in Italy, adds a pop of colour against the leather-clad, graphic wall boiserie. Near the Clan Milano velvet sofa is a coffee table from Jumbo Collection. On it are silver artefacts as well as an antique Japanese bronze perfume burner from the Meji period sourced from Villa Interieur

Designer Shantanu Garg reimagines the legacy of Indian royals and manifests his own vision for the design of this penthouse. The 10,000 sq ft “flying bungalow” defies all preconceived notions. The conversation began with the homeowner’s desire for a design-forward, smart home. To achieve this result, Shantanu and his namesake creative practice has taken a bespoke boutique approach and created an unapologetically indulgent and luxurious home, a treat to the senses. He says, “The architectural modernity of the space renders drama, contrast and balance in a cohesive design language. I love the fact that it shouts luxury while also incorporating functional details that are made to measure.”

The living room is encased within leather clad boiseries, jacketed in a metal trim and decorated with original graphics. The carpet is a Shantanu Garg design, part of Jaipur Rugs’ Concoction series
