MY JOURNEY

AT THE AGE OF FIVE, I was already painting ball gowns. I chose to do a Bachelors in Fashion and Textile Design in Milan. Definitely not the right choice for a girl from a small town in Andhra, where if you are not an engineer or doctor, you are off the charts. It was quite a journey for me to convince everyone that I needed to pursue what I love—design. With my mom’s support, I moved to Milan in 2005. Upon graduating and a couple of design internships in Italy, I enrolled for Masters in retail management and moved to Delhi. This resulted in experience with some of the largest buying agencies handling design, product development and first-hand experience of managing complex supply chains for the best global brands. Later I shifted to retail managing a top-end Italian luxury brand and started crunching numbers.
