When it came to relocating from their fast-paced city life in London to the heart of the North West in Northern Ireland, Susan Simone and her famous Italian husband Vincent brought plenty of sparkle!
-
I used to drive past Poplar Design in the town centre and their shop window display always made my head turn,’ comments Susan who is originally from here. ‘I thought if I ever move back to Northern Ireland and happen to need a kitchen that is where I’ll go!’

So, when it came to relocating to Northern Ireland from London Susan didn’t need to shop around and her first stop when it came to fitting out their new home was Poplar Design. ‘The second I put my foot in the door it felt like I was still in London because of the designer feel,’ says Susan. ‘When Vincent and I were greeted by Caroline, first impressions were excellent — she was highly knowledgeable, professional and passionate about her product yet she was bubbly, warm and personable. For the first time during the house renovation I felt like someone was on my wavelength! It wasn’t a case of just buying a kitchen; it was a journey that started from that first visit to the shop that carried on throughout the renovation to after we moved in. Caroline’s genuine care, guidance and expertise meant she was with us every step of the way,’ explains Susan.
