A remarkable space suffused with light and life, this apartment in Ahmedabad by STUDIO-IN-DTALE plays host to art and spatiality

A sprawling terrace, a living room with a double-height ceiling, stunning wall-art and a great view is what dream homes are made of. Bestowed with an interesting layout and proportions, Pooja Shah, Birju Shah and Dhara Shah, founding partners of Ahmedabad-based STUDIO-IN-DTALE were entrusted with designing the interiors of this 3,800 sq ft home with abundant natural light, stunning volumes and expansive spaces. Located on the 14th floor in upscale Ahmedabad, the apartment showcases a balance of textures and neutral colours at its soul with the rawness of lime plaster, the brilliance of brass and handwoven fabrics coming together to create a plush and congenial haven for the homeowners. The home accommodates three generations—a grandmother who is 90 years old, a couple who are 60, the husband being a cyber security consultant, and the wife is a travel blogger who arranges customised trips and a young daughter. The designers knew the family and could easily incorporate their personalities and requirements into their abode. “With a penchant for wanderlust; they also enjoy their breaks and love having friends over. The family enjoys entertaining friends and wants to maintain privacy as well,” says Pooja Shah.
