The recently inaugurated Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC) has become the hub for art and culture in Kolkata.

This brand new multidisciplinary interactive arts centre is located off Eastern Metropolitan Bypass in Kolkata. Spread across 70,000 sq ft, KCC champions the art and cultural landscape of contemporary India, and is spearheaded by Emami Group’s Director, Richa Agarwal, as KCC’s Executive Director, and CEO of Emami Art. Prolific architect Pinakin Patel is the Creative Director at KCC, and was also instrumental in the design of this luxurious facility. “Emami Group has been patronising the arts since a long time and running an art gallery too. Now they felt that Kolkata, the city of their growth, should benefit from an arts centre. The clients brief was to design an arts building and put in whatever activities that best expressed my idea of ‘art’, discloses Pinakin when we enquired about the brief from the client for the building. “The architecture is based on cubism and maintains an India modern flavour,” he adds.
