Bronze highlights deliver eye-catching drama in this Sydney apartment.

This dramatic Sydney kitchen is a collaboration between Minosa Creative’s Darren Genner, who was engaged for the concept drawings, and SJS Interior Design, led by Dani Hans and overseen by creative director Sarah Marriott, who developed the design and managed the renovation. “The owners are a couple nearing retirement and they wanted a beautiful home to retreat to as well as plenty of space for entertaining friends and family,” says Sarah. It was important that the kitchen delivered on looks and functionality without dominating its corner of the open-plan area. “This space opens directly to a balcony, which enjoys beautiful sun and has views of the ocean – we didn’t want to distract from that,” says Sarah. Storage was essential, as was accommodating the laundry appliances.
