This is the month of our Guru, Dr. Jayadeva's birthday. His words always revealed the truth. He had originally titled this column as Thy Kitchen is Thy Dispensary. This was to shed light not only on the health benefits of food but also its medicinal applications. He hoped that those who contributed to and benefited from recipes in this section would gain an insight into the indications, contraindications, dosage and side-effects of the foods, so to speak. An efficient way to convey this message!
The season has changed. It is time to reduce Kapha accumulated during winter months. Ayurveda recommends use of aged wheat, aged barley and aged honey.
