Aethusa Cynapium

Aethusa Cynapium is one of the very precious remedies, generally thought of as a remedy for childhood but its virtues are much beyond that.

It is an annual herb and a poisonous plant which grows as a weed in cultivated grounds.It has smooth dark green leaves with an unpleasant odor. It has a hollow stem with clusters of small umbel like white flowers.

Common name:Fool’s parsley, Poison parsley, Dog’s parsley, Lesser or Smaller hemlock.

Parts used:The whole plant during flowering season is used in the preparation of mother tincture.

Active principles:Cynopine, Conine, Aethitsine, Ethusanol.

From the key notes:It is especially suited for children during dentition in hot summer weather and children who cannot bear milk (Lactose intolerance).Great weakness, children cannot stand, unable to hold up the head(Abrot.); prostration with sleepiness.
