Q What happens to my muscle tissue after a heavy weight training session if I don’t consume enough protein? Robert
A There is delicate balance that exists in your body that works to repair and rebuild muscle tissue following the damage caused by physical activity of any kind. Weight training is, of course, one of the more extreme forms of damage inducing activities.
To explain it as simply as possible, the forceful contractions or mechanical loading associated with heavy weight lifting literally tears muscle fibres. This breakdown, also known as catabolism, includes the physical separation of the fibres that comprise the muscle structure and microtrauma on a cellular level to other forms of supporting and structural elements.

The Florida Effect: The Power Of Priming On Performance
We all like to think that we are in complete control of our actions, our mindsets, and, subsequently, our performance. But what if that weren’t true? Could it be that the words you hear on the radio or read on billboards or the pictures you see on your way to the change room could affect your subsequent performance in the gym, through their impact on your subconscious mind?Well, it just might, at least according to numerous studies into behavioural psychology that have looked at a concept known as the priming effect.
