Although we have hi-tech medical facilities, we are still leading a stressful, unhealthy and unstable life. In this Covid situation, yoga can bring peace to our body, mind, and soul and add more value to our life. The importance of yoga in modern life is abundant.

START IN SUKHASANA – EASY POSE

While this pose is often referred to as ‘easy pose’, it can feel anything but easy for many of us! Sitting on a cushion or yoga block can help to make this pose more comfortable if you feel any tightness or tension in your lower back or hips.

1. Come to sit in Sukhasana, crossing your legs and sitting up tall. Imagine a golden thread lifting you up through the crown of your head.

2. Think head over heart, heart over pelvis to maintain good posture. Release the shoulders from the ears.

3. Close the eyes and bring your awareness to the breath, noticing the air move in and out of your nostrils.

4. Take five slow, relaxed breaths here.

5. Gently flicker the eyes open.
