STYLE FILES: FDCI INDIA COUTURE WEEK 2021

The Fashion Design Council of India presented the lavish 12th edition of India Couture Week 2021 in its second digital format from August 23 to 29, 2021 with 19 couturiers who unleashed scintillating bridal fashion at its best. At the seven-day extravaganza, the cynosure of the collections was undoubtedly the amazing embroidery created by master craftsmen of India without whose amazing talents, bridal wear in India would not be as splendid as it is.

DAY ONE

MANISH MALHOTRA – NOORANIYAT

Presenting his collection Nooraniyat for the Bridal Edit, Manish Malhotra opened FDCI India Couture Week 2021. He unveiled a blitz of auspicious red, luxuriously, embellished bridal wear that will thrill the hearts of the lady as she circles around the holy agni. Adding variety, a hint of ivory and gold appeared encrusted with the most dazzling embellishments for the bridal couture.

DAY TWO

SIDDARTHA TYTLER – AMBROSIA

The theme was ivory and gold for men’s and women’s wear when Siddartha Tytler’s ethnic and Western Ambrosia collection vied for attention as 50-kali anarkalis, 40-panelled lehengas and sherwanis with swirling skirts were the ultimate showstoppers. The multi-layered, cowled, ruffled creations in chanderi, taffeta, organza, tissue, cotton silk and georgette were a mesmerising grand couture offering.
