On 29 February 2016, 14-year-old James Hancock brought a handgun to Madison high school in Butler County, Ohio and shot two fellow pupils during their lunch break.

The incident was one of several high-profile school shootings that sparked a debate about whether US teachers should be armed to protect their students – with President Trump endorsing the idea last year after another shooting in a Florida school left 17 people dead.

This week, C4 cameras visit Ohio for a one-off documentary that features strong opinions from people on both sides of the debate, as the boards of two local schools – including Madison – vote on whether or not their teachers will carry firearms in the future.
