Alisha Boe tells all as netflix’s controversial school drama returns
NEW DRAMA
13 reasons why
Available from Friday 18 May, Netflix
The first season of Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why caused a stir last year with its graphic depiction of a teenage suicide when troubled highschool student Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) took her own life –leaving behind 13 sides of cassette tapes on which she implicated the friends and classmates who she believed had contributed to her death.
As the US drama returns this week for a new 13-part series, it’s a few months later and Hannah’s parents are suing the school district for its responsibility in her death, while the students of Liberty High are still trying to deal with the fallout from the tragedy.
Grief-stricken Clay (Dylan Minnette) is struggling to come to terms with Hannah’s suicide, but has started dating the equally troubled Skye (Sosie Bacon), who continues to self-harm.
