The first series of ITV’s crime drama Unforgotten revolved around the discovery of a body from nearly 40 years earlier, and the twists and turns as four very different suspects were placed in the frame.

This week, the series returns with a new intriguing mystery as determined cops DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) and DI Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) investigate when the body of a man who went missing in 1990 is found inside a suitcase in the River Lea in north-east London.

How does this season’s new case compare with the last?

Walker There’s a similarity in that a body surfaces and secrets emerge, but the crime is different. When they find this body, it’s difficult to discover the identity, while there is a family who have been waiting all this time to find out what happened.
