Your friendly neighbourhood Merc with a Mouth is back and we take a look at what DEADPOOL 2 may bring and its journey to the big screen...

XXX-Men

Amazing how things change, isn’t it? Ten years ago, fans of Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza’s merc with a mouth Deadpool were excited for what the character’s live-action feature film début in X-Men Origins: Wolverine may bring. Fast forward a few years and, after the aforementioned fanbase-enraging portrayal of the character (openly mocked in the first Deadpool and its advertising), we were left with hardly any hope for a solo outing for Mr. Pool, in spite of star Ryan Reynolds’ passionate dedication to making those dreams into reality and making amends for what we got in 2009. Fast forward to 2016 and not only did we get Deadpool, but the film broke box office records for R-rated superhero genre films and enjoyed a deserved stream of rave reviews. In fact, following Deadpool’s success, studios have warmed to the idea of R-rated entries into the genre, as made clear with last year’s acclaimed and Oscar-nominated Logan and the upcoming Hellboy and Spawn reboots. Deadpool was an excellent, violent, fourth-wall-breaking, loyal and hilarious film, bringing the motormouthed mercenary to life with Ryan Reynolds encapsulating all the character should be onscreen. Naturally, a sequel was greenlit even before the first movie’s release and Deadpool 2 (also known as The Untitled Deadpool Sequel) is ready to raise hell all over again.

The actual plot of this sequel is masked in mystery but if 20th Century Fox’s officially released plot outline is anything to go by, then it seems the wit of our red-and-black antihero is ever at the forefront of the film. The synopsis reads:
