Assassins Creed: The Movie Can it Succeed Where Many Failed?
Skewed and Reviewed: The Magazine
|December 2016
With the pending release of “Assassins Creed”, the long and often troubled line of films based on video games will continue. 2016 has seen the release of “Angry Birds”, “Ratchet and Clank”, and “Warcraft” already and while they have done solid box office business worldwide, they were not exactly embraced by critics and audiences.

“Warcraft” as an example made over $433 million at the box office but only $47 million of that was in the U.S. which was well below expectations for a large budgeted and FX laden film based on a very popular franchise.
“Ratchet and Clank” made just under $9 million in the U.S. and was a huge disappointment as those responsible for the film had expected a much better response.
