The biggest billboard in UFC history will have Latin blood in their ranks, as the Mexican and winner of The Ultimate Fighter, Kelvin Gastelum, will face the always difficult Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in New York City.
Gastelum already had a scheduled bout against Jorge Masvidal in Mexico, but the former champion Robbie Lawler was injured and was presented the opportunity for the Aztec warrior obtain an opportunity in the long-awaited billboard.
“When I heard that Robbie Lawler was injured, I was sending messages to Dana White,” said Gastelum. “But as I had a scheduled fight, they (UFC) did not want to it give me and they (UFC) were trying to negotiate with Diaz, but failed to reach an agreement and left me.”
