As I write this we have just celebrated VE day, in a variety of ways outside with friends at a distance, calling across to one another. It is appropriate that this day has fallen within the lockdown period. Our forebears had endured for a much longer period than our current lockdown, the WI members were resilient and resourceful then and we are now. Once foreign words such as Zoom, Skype and What’s App are on our lips as we find new ways to keep in touch. Meetings are held, coffee mornings and discussion groups still take place but spread between homes. Maybe with summer and allowed out a bit more we will be having them in the park – will we need to carry a measure around?
