Still recovering from a recent miscarriage, Gugu is seemingly ready for round two with an old flame.

If there’s one thing that Gugu (Bukamina Cebekhulu) wants more than anything, it’s a child of her own. And she’s willing to run into the arms of an ex to make that happen. Having had a miscarriage in June this year, Gugu’s emotional scars are still deep. But not deep enough to keep her from getting what she wants.

“When she lost the baby it broke her,” Bukamina says. “Her being pregnant meant she could have something that was hers, that belonged to her and loves her unconditionally. So she’s still open to love and having another baby.”

Not wasting any time, Gugu plans to ask her varsity sweetheart Muzi (Fezile Makhanya), the same guy who lied about being single a few years back, only to get married days after hooking up with Gugu. But Bukamina explains that Gugu is driven by love. “Behind everything that’s happened between the two of them, she truly still loves him. He is still her first love, he is still that one guy she has a soft spot for.” And she has her beliefs cemented after physically witnessing him help a woman with an emergency birth. “When she sees him in action, she knows he would be someone responsible enough to be a father,” says Bukamina.
