At breaking point

Depression sinks in for loyal housewife Mymoena when her husband considers a divorce.

Ruiterbosch pharmacist AB’s (Cedwyn Joel) new second wife Farah (Lee-Ann van Rooi) has shown her true self to viewers now that she’s got her way and a ring on her finger. She has played her husband like a violin, in the process sabotaging AB’s marriage to first wife Mymoena (Jill Levenberg) at every turn. The image of Mymoena as a mean and angry woman that Farah has created has confused AB and he is considering divorcing his first wife. The news flattens Mymoena, who falls into a state of despair.

A BROKEN PLAY

Farah conspires to make Mymoena look bad and she uses AB’s granddaughter Stella (Mishka Ross) in her plot. She buys the child a broken gift, and when Mymoena discovers that it’s broken she lets Farah know so that she can replace it – and walks into the trap. Farah tells AB that his other wife deliberately broke Stella’s gift. “AB is hurt because he never thought that his first wife could be so childish,” says Cedwyn. “Yet Farah plants a seed of doubt in his mind.”
