FACED WITH A COURT BATTLE, AND WITH THE QUEEN’S PLATINUM JUBILEE LOOMING, THE PRINCE SETTLES HIS SEX-ASSAULT SUIT.

“Charles and William are outraged with Andrew.” — an insider tells Star
AND suddenly, it was over. In a Feb. 2 letter filed to the U.S. district court, Prince Andrew and his accuser Virginia Giuffre announced that they had reached an out-of-court settlement for an indisclosed sum. The 38-year-old had rocked the royal family with allegations that Andrew had sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was just 17. Even more damning, the civil case had highlighted the 61-year-old royal’s long association with the notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in custody in 2019, and Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of trafficking Virginia and other underage girls on Dec. 29, 2021. Agreeing to settle is a remarkable shift for Andrew, whose attorney once derided Virginia as looking for a “payday” at the prince’s expense. Indeed, in a statement, the Duke of York, without admitting liability, said that he had never intended “to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.”
