You began your Bollywood journey behind the camera and then began acting. How did this transformation help in moulding you as an actor?

I think practical knowledge is what an individual gets on the sets, it polishes you completely. It helps build your confidence up as an actor, in terms of the look, the continuity of the shot and the scene. So I think, it is really important for an actor to have some experience working behind the camera and on the sets as well.

What made you choose Paltan?

 I’ve known and followed JP Dutta sir’s films. He has a really clear vision that makes directing such a big project on such a large scale so easy. I really wanted to be a part of his films be it a romance or a crime film. I had told him once, ‘Sir aap jab bhi kuch shoot kar rahe honge, if there’s any role suitable for me, please batadijiye.’ So, he called me up and I auditioned for this role.

Besides, there are also some very interesting parts which really attracted me to this project.
