The Actor Chats About Playing Musical Icon Elton John In The New Flick Rocketman.

When Taron Egerton found out that he’d been cast as Elton John in the musical biopic Rocketman, he had mixed emotions. “To portray Elton felt like a huge honor, [but also] a huge responsibility. The enormity of it was borderline overwhelming,” confesses the 29-year-old. “I mean, he’s a global phenomenon, and people feel such a personal investment in him!” But after meeting and getting advice from the 72-year-old music legend himself, Taron knew he was up for the task. “I’m really proud of [the film],” he says, adding that he “loved working [on it].” Here, the British actor and singer chats about preparing for his life-changing role and Elton’s thoughts on the film.
