No longer under a conservatorship, Amanda Bynes is sober, happy and making big plans for the future
-
The day she'd been waiting for finally came. On March 22, a California judge granted Amanda Bynes' request to end the conservatorship that ruled her life for nearly nine years — with the full support of her mom, Lynn, who oversaw the legal arrangement put in place in 2013 as the former child star faced a string of mental health and addiction issues and run-ins with the law. In the weeks following her legal victory, says a source, “Amanda has been embracing her freedom.” At 36, she's starting over.
Though she's been "flooded with offers” to return to acting, says the source, the Easy A and She's the Man star isn't interested. "Amanda's excited to be moving on and closing that chapter of her life,” explains the source. “Right now, she's focusing on herself. After her horrifying experience in Hollywood, she doesn't want to go back there."
