What happens when a Bentley University student meets a beautiful graduate from Singapore's United World College? Sparks fly. And before they know it, they are settled in blissful matrimony.

"I met Kunal in 2004 when I was 18. He gave me a lot of attention, but I wasn't interested initially," Ritika Vardhan shares. “So he took a step back, and at that time, I realised he was the one for me as I developed an interest in him which I didn't feel towards anyone else."

Kunal Vardhan pretty much echoes the sentiment when he admits: "I think the day I met her, I knew she was the one—and she really was. She is the main reason I have a feeling of satisfaction and completeness.”

Kunal hails from a prominent family of Mumbai-based realtors. He learnt the ropes from his father, Champalal Vardhan. He took up his first project, Atria Mall in the neighbourhood of Worli in Mumbai, right out of college. Today, the 39-year-old businessman is working on what’s purported to be one of Asia’s largest slum rehabilitation projects.

“All through my growing years, I saw my father work hard and build good buildings around Mumbai,” he says. “So, like in any other Marwari family, it was drilled into my head that I would grow up to be a realtor. Now, I am a seasoned developer in Mumbai.”
