Orion initiates high-tech regional exploration in Northern Cape

Sydney- and Johannesburg-listed company Orion Minerals will from November 26 initiate an airborne survey across a large area of South Africa’s Northern Cape as part of a regional exploration programme that will make use of the latest available technology in an area last explored in the 1980s.
Electromagnetic methods have advanced significantly since the last systematic exploration took place in the Northern Cape belt, and CEO Errol Smart believes that Orion has a rare opportunity to enhance value by carrying out advanced and early-stage projects at the same time.
