I am frequently asked, especially by emerging farmers, to provide spray programmes for various crops.
But to be effective, such a programme would have to be different in different years, seasons and areas. It is also costly to spray for a pest or disease that may be no threat at that time.
It makes more sense to know what the potential threat is, then apply the necessary product at the first sign of the pest, or when the season or weather makes emergence of the disease likely.
Where a pest is a threat, do your best to practise integrated pest management.
