The World Needs More Women To Work
Construction Week
|April 2022
Women in Construction brought out excellent points about adoption of modern tools and how they are changing the rules of the business
-

For the first time, Construction Week India decided to organise and celebrate International Women's Day. For long, the idea of isolating a single day dedicated to women was not so fascinating. But over the years, with wisdom, we have realised that women have pervaded all areas at the workplace and are in prominent positions. Real estate owners are handing over the baton to their daughters who have come armed with qualifications from overseas and bringing in novelty to the business. Adoption of technology, innovations, new ventures, are only starters, which the young generation is bringing to the corporate sector..
It was in this light that Construction Week thought of bringing in women from across sectors to understand how they have quickly learned the ropes of climbing the ladder in construction that was hitherto a male-dominated society.
The day began with a presentation by Palash Agnihotri, Director, MCT India, who spoke on how MCT has evolved since starting in 2000 as an enterprise asset management company. As a strategic partner, MCT India helps its clients transform into a web-based, data-driven enterprise and empower them to take advantage of the EAM to innovate, differentiate and grow. Today it's a good business partner for IBM Maximo and 80-plus certified customers worldwide. One can predict changes in civil infrastructure through managing, monitoring, healthwise and predictions.
We had three panel discussions and had women from leading organisations who spoke on various aspects of their work and their personal achievements that gives them a sense of fulfilment.
Here are some excerpts:
Panel 1: Topic: Creating a New Normal in Real Estate
