The concept of this workplace revolves around amalgamating heritage and modern elements that’s indicative of the coming together of two generations of the business family

Blended!

As it was being handed down from father to son, this two-decade-old, family-run business wanted to give its corporate office a modern makeover, one that reflected its current direction while keeping its values intact. Located in the busy district of Fort in Mumbai, the office is located in a heritage structure, which is surrounded by others of its kind less than five feet away in three directions. So, the existing space lacked natural light, resulting in a less motivated atmosphere for its employees. The design team of KNS Architects decided to restore the colonial look of the structure.

Wooden louvres were added to the facade to enhance fenestration. Internally, the structure was broken down to create a work environment that was stimulating and inspiring to work in. Due to the sandwiched nature of the building, skylights and voids were introduced to bring in nature, daylight and better visual connect to the interiors.
