After 69 years, the nationalised airline Air India has been privatised once again by its original owners - the Tata Group

0n January 27, 2022, the national airline of India Air India - got a new lease of life. The airline was officially handed over to the Tata Group after years of conversations around its disinvestment. Following failed attempts of the disinvestment of the airline, it almost seemed like the days of Air India were numbered. Mounting debts stood at tens of thousands of crores and it seemed like there was no turning around India's national carrier at this stage.

It was on October 15, 2021 when the Tata Group won the bid ₹18,000 crores for the purchase of the airline from the government. And then there was hope; some light at the end of this tunnel that had seen a deep plummet into failure over the years.
