Jaguar F-pace (2.0 L Petrol Prestige)

I RECENTLY TEST drove Jaguar’s luxury SUV, F-Pace, on the streets of Mumbai. For starters, I have to say that while I am quite familiar with Jaguar’s portfolio, my experiences were limited to their luxurious sedans.

This is the first time I am actually driving an SUV by the British carmaker and I have to say it was a most enjoyable experience. While the F-Pace stands out by its heft and muscular design, it does not compromise on the luxury experience, as visible inside the cabin. I drove the 2.0 litre Petrol Prestige variant, which promises a maximum power of 184 kW and a maximum torque of 365 Nm. The drive experience is smooth as silk thanks to the 8-speed automatic transmission. The drive modes are controlled through a knob on the central console. What I found particularly practical on Mumbai’s crowded streets was the automatic start-stop function. While I couldn’t push the car to its speed limits on Mumbai’s streets, it does come packed with features like cruise control, traction control, stability control and speed limiter, which might be extremely useful on
