Acquisition Of Janssen Products Has Strengthened Our Product Range

The company recently acquired five brands of Janssen, a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Beerse (Belgium) that was founded by Paul Janssen in 1953. The acquisition has further strengthened Piramal’s armoury. With the manufacturing units located in India and the US, the company is gearing up to hit the top list of inhaled anaesthetics. Speaking to BioSpectrum, Peter DeYoung, CEO, Piramal Critical Care shared the company’s vision and strategies to map its products deeper into the global market.

What is your current product portfolio and where all are you present globally?

Piramal Critical Care is a global leader in the field of anaesthesia with a portfolio of inhaled and intravenous anaesthesia and pain solutions. We are the world's third largest producer of Inhaled Anaesthetics with a global market share of 12 per cent and the only company with a complete inhalation anaesthetic product portfolio. Our products are sold directly or through our network of distribution partners in over 110 countries across the world, with significant availability in the US, Europe, Japan, and a number of important emerging markets, including India.
