Size Matters

Given its size and weight, a 2.0-litre petrol motor in the Audi Q7 may seem less than adequate, but, from behind the wheel, it’s a different story.

Broadly speaking, the luxury-car segment has two kinds of buyers. On the one hand, you have the hard-core petrolheads, who continue to believe that there’s no replacement for displacement. On the other hand, are those who support downsizing and the efficient extraction of performance. The Audi Q7 40 TFSI is a car that falls firmly in the latter category. But the question that needs to be answered is this – does the 2.0-litre gasoline motor do justice to a car of this size and weight?
