The 2018 FormulaOne season is here. The cars look different, with an obvious new feature being the halo. F1 cars evolve to be ever safer and the halo will undoubtedly save lives. The list of drivers in open race cars that have been killed or seriously injured by head injury is long sad list. The halo is immensely strong. It weighs 7kgs, is made from titanium and can withstand enormous forces.

All the cars will carry the same halo. Effectively a forward roll cage that closed car drivers have enjoyed since the late Seventies.
