The green shoots of the new season sprout at Autosport International.

It’s the bleak midwinter, and with the grim weather and post-Christmas, pre-payday blues biting most petrol heads pretty hard, the Auto sport International show at Birmingham’s NEC serves as a decent life-raft. Held in four of the giant NEC halls, this event is all about motorsport and nothing else, and despite snow coming down outside, it was hot inside.

It’s a four-day show, with the Thursday and Friday being ‘trade days’ and the weekend being for all comers, though this doesn’t seem to put anyone off doing either or both. It’s packed with stands and displays from everyone: clubs, colleges, manufacturers, retailers, and every branch of sport from karting to F1.
