WHEN the 85employees of jewellery company CaratLane were asked by members of 1405 Design Studio about the elements they’d like in their new workspace, they gave a volley of answers - cosy corners, discussion and brainstorming zones, high tables, phone conversation booths and even writable table tops. Responding to all these design sensibilities, while maintaining adaptability and an open plan layout posed a great challenge, but Ashwath Narayanan and Divya Khullar rose to it.
