I’M STARTING the New Year wearing a brand new hat, but I’m not talking about some sort of fancy headwear, or even one of those flat caps that were once so popular with country folk and have recently become a bit of a hipster fashion statement. You might already know that I wear lots of different hats: sheep and arable farmer, rare breeds enthusiast, Cotswold Farm Park proprietor, TV presenter, author and supporter of all kinds of worthwhile campaigns from UK Wool Week to Open Farm Sunday. Well now I’ve added another role to the list after accepting an invitation to become an ambassador for the Prince’s Countryside Fund.
