Caring For Cats During Lockdown

This generally has meant each family is to stay at their own residence except for specific essential purposes. One of those purposes is to work out of the home (if you’re deemed essential) and another is to provide food for your family. The rules vary, but that’s the gist of the order. Providing for your cats when you’re supposed to stay home and maintain social distancing can be challenging but the world is adapting to this new reality.

Food and Litter

Stores that provide cat food and litter are remaining open due in part because store management is well aware that our cats are part of our families and must be provided for along with everyone else.

Dozens of these stores contacted local, state, and federal officials to get their businesses classified as essential services. This means they get to remain open, albeit with modified hours and procedures. While each store is different, several have adopted the following practices used by PetSmart.
