In this issue, FORM pays tribute to Singapore’s 49th birthday this month with archetypes of the Singaporean home. Presented in lavishly photographed spreads are the black-and-white bungalow, tropical house, renovated ‘landed property’, and variations of the Tiong Bahru conservation flat with a feature on four young Singaporean designers which completes the commemorative section.

This issue also talks about the growing importance of Portugal as a production base for fine furniture. International mega-brands and boutique labels have been relying on Portugal for traditional craftsmanship, mechanised manufacturing facilities and central (European) location. The country’s artisanal approach to production and its very modern outlook are among other draws.

The August-September issue also includes a comprehensive review of the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) which recently concluded in New York City.
