Encore! Everyone has been well and truly buffeted in the last twenty years, but there have also been some whom the waves have carried only upwards. “Leningrad”, a group which originated in a centrifuge of criminal gangs, at first skimmed over the history of Russia, then decided what it was to be and finally started building it. In those twenty years the group has amassed an improbable number of hits and has gone beyond the limits of genres. “Leningrad” was the first group to prove that there was no shame in appealing to people — it was a real happiness. At the end of their “20 Years of Joy!” the musicians will share this happiness with the audience at the Ice Palace on 23 and 24 November, performing their anniversary programme as an encore.
