The June 2025 NORKA Roots newsletter highlights major initiatives for the welfare of Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs). Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the ‘Lokam Lokaralam Online’ digital platform and mobile app, providing online access to key NORKA services like Pravasi ID Cards, NRK Insurance, Pravasi Raksha, e-learning, certificate attestation, and online health consultations.

The Pravasi ID program crossed 8.5 lakh cards since 2008, along with over 10,000 Student ID Cards and 34,000 NORKA NRK ID Cards. The newly launched NORKA Academic Excellence Scholarship will support Kerala-origin students in higher education, with up to ₹1 lakh per student.

Affordable NRK insurance schemes continue to benefit the diaspora. The grievance redressal network, now expanded to 105 locations, offers better service reach. NORKA also engaged with the Karnataka Skill Development Authority for interstate cooperation in migration and skill development.

Further, NORKA is promoting entrepreneurship among returning migrants, reflecting its commitment to NRK welfare.
