The most auspicious day of the year to buy gold is Dhanteras, which falls on Nov. 5, two days before the Hindu festival of Diwali and the Jewellers are busy stocking their inventories with spectacular collections. Agree that surge in domestic prices to the highest level in more than two years may have some impact but I eco my thoughts with the GJC chairman Nitin Khandelwal who is optimistic with sales as it is festive season and people will definitely purchase jewellery.
