Dear Readers, welcome to a very special edition of August 2021. This marks the last issue of our 7th year and we are all looking forward to celebrating our 8th anniversary next month.
While we all have taken a sigh of relief as things near normalcy, the wounds from the second wave are still afresh in many hearts. The second wave saw our city’s medical system cripple and scores of people helpless. We at Delhiites group have always believed that we are more than a media house, we are a feeling, a representation of 10 million plus Delhiites.
I am pleased to share with you all that the second wave of covid gave birth to Delhiites Foundation, under which in the last 3 months we have undertaken various initiatives. Delhiites Foundation partnered with and supported three Covid Care Centre’s being run in the city. We have been undertaking food drives for those who don’t have a means to support themselves during these grief stricken times, we worked closely with Old age homes, Orphanages, Delhi Tuberculosis Association amongst other backward and impacted society’s. The mission and vision is to strictly do damage control and act as per the need of the hour. In June 2021 we disembarked on a journey to vaccinate as many Delhiites as possible free of cost.
I am proud to inform you that in the last two months we have successfully vaccinated over 2,500 Delhiites. Our team and volunteers have worked day and night selflessly to partner with the needy sections of the society who did not have the means and access to the vaccine. We have held camps for the Delhi police families, Leprosy patients, underprivileged and senior citizens across the national capital. our endeavours have been acknowledged and appreciated by member of parliaments, cabinet ministers and vice president of the country.
