The fall is here and winter is coming. Soon it will be Christmas, and that means it’s time for fun family holidays. So this issue, we are presenting you with even more must-visit destinations
for your year-end planning, or just for a quick getaway. All are places that have left a mark in our hearts and we hope they fire up your inner globetrotter.
New York is where we shot our cover photos with Raline Shah, who names the busy city as her favourite place in the world. Set outdoors in frantic Manhattan, the shoot was pretty hectic as busy people leading busy lives passed us by in downtown Soho. The team was, of course, amazing, and we were proud to have iconic senior stylist Freddie Leiba on board, while Joseph Chen, the legendary New York photographer, took all the snaps. It was a fun and fantastic experience for us and also for Raline, whose friend allowed us to photograph her cute white puppy.
Moving on to warmer breezes in more tropical climes, we travel to east Africa to reveal the best bush lodges and luxury beachside hideaways the continent has to offer. We also discover the Cheval Blanc Randheli, one of the most exclusive and
luxurious private island resorts in the Maldives. Of course, we can’t ignore our very own crown jewel, Bali, and we present to you some of our top resort picks on the island.
Despite the stunning views, sceneries and quality of life offered by such tropical paradises, Singaporean tycoon Anil Thadani prefers to slice his yacht through ice jams on a quest to follow the Arctic exploration route, and he shares with us the spectacular scenery of the Canadian Arctic.
