Once Upon A Time…
“A picture is worth a thousand words,” is no truer an expression than it is at this very moment. A picture takes the imagination on a journey of creation, of searching, and of discovery. A single image can reveal things deep within our own psyche that we may not have been aware of on a conscious level, and take us on an expedition of the mind. That is the story-telling power of a picture. In this issue, we delve right into the magical and wondrous stories created through the images of photo-bards such as the whimsical work of Peter Kemp, the voyeuristic work of Miho Aikawa, and the surreal work of Eugenio Recuenco, to name but a very few of the exceptional talent packing this issue. Conceptual photography does what no other art medium can do: it frames a single moment, and allows the details to take over the role of the protagonist, one detail at a time. Giving the photo the time it deserves to tell a story.
