With a gorgeous granddaughter and another novel on the way, Lorraine Kelly has lots to look forward to

She's already kicked off the year healthily after enjoying a wonderfully indulgent Christmas that involved eating chocolate for breakfast. 'To be honest, by the time the new year comes, I can't face another mince pie because of all the eating and drinking. I almost go back on a health kick without realising it because I'm craving something plain, like beans on toast,' she says.

Along with continuing to present her eponymous show and charity work, at the top of Lorraine's to-do list is seeing as much of her granddaughter Billie as possible.

Her daughter Rosie, 30, welcomed her first child with fiancé Steve White in August, and Lorraine is overjoyed.

'She's absolutely beautiful. It's brilliant! Everybody said to me I won't believe how much I'll love this little tiny thing, and of course, you do. But it's amazing to see your own child having a wee baby.

The broadcaster has been a doting granny since day one, but she's keen to ensure she doesn't overstep and crowd the new parents. 'I've just said to Rosie, "I'm here for you, anything you need." She's good, though, we have got that kind of relationship that if I was annoying her, she would just say, "Enough, go home!" She's going to be the best mum. She's much more grown-up than me!'
